Tuesday Essentials

Happy Tuesday dolls! I’m sharing today’s essentials on my IG post: @beautybyryulala.

I just started a new, strict diet M-F so I’m feeling like I need a good cup of caffeine every day. I’ve been keeping my makeup light and natural, which is what I normally do throughout the work week, unless I’m out meeting with clients. I always have my under eye powder to touch up and highlight the areas on my face. I always have at least a lip color to apply and also can’t be without my fave Jo Malone cologne. I love the small sample sizes because they’re so easy to have with me in my purse.

Have a great Tuesday beauties!

Lashes on Lashes on Lashes

Happy Monday beauties! Hope you all had a great weekend. I had family visiting from out of town so I’ve been pretty busy and didn’t get a chance to post yesterday.

I’m sharing my favorite lash glue from House of Lashes along with some of my fave faux lashes I love to use by Ardell and House of Lashes. Check out the details on my Instagram: @beautybyryulala.

Having an excellent lash glue is key to applying false lashes. The HOL glue has a great consistency in the formula and is easy to apply with the thin brush applicator. It dries quickly unlike some other glues out there which helps with keeping the band cleaner when applying to the lash line. The white-clear goes on white but dries clear and I personally like to use this one when I’m not applying eye liner to my makeup look. I use the dark-black which goes on black and dries black when I am applying eye liner with a full face of makeup. I just feel like both glues help make the corresponding makeup look much more polished.

Today was a busy Monday back! Hope you all have a productive and great week!

XO,

Yuri

Weekend lip duo

Happy weekend beauties!

Out and about today at a work event, trying to stay cool. I kept my makeup lightweight with some MAC Face and Body, no eyeliner just lashes, bronzer, blush and highlighter. For lips, I’ve been obsessed with pairing my MAC lip liner in Soar with the Balm Matt Hughes Liquid Lipstick. I just line and fill in my lips with Soar and apply the liquid lipstick on top of it. It’s a great shade together, soft and pretty, mauve-y nude lip color!

Hope you stay cool beauties! Have a great Saturday.

Yuri

Happy hump-day!

Happy hump-day beauties!

As always, I went with a natural and neutral makeup for today’s look. I love my Urban Decay NAKED Basics palette and love taking it with me when I’m on the go because of the convenient size! I guess I stuck with using all travel size friendly products today. lol Here’s what I used: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer as always, on top of my SPF and my Maybelline Fit Me concealer to brighten up my under eyes, LORAC eye primer (I took a break from my MAC paint pot), filled in my brows with the ABH brow powder duo, and the Marc Jacobs mascara. Surprisingly, I have been enjoying the Marc Jacobs mascara. I don’t like to change my mascaras too much because I am very particular with mascaras in general. I’m obsessed with finding the type that does not clump or weigh down my lashes. I have a few favorites that I always use, but I have been using the Marc Jacobs one when I’m on the go and I have to say, it’s pretty good. Lightweight, even after two coats and not clumpy at all. I like the way it applies even in the small size. I’ll have to finish this bottle and see if I decide on purchasing the full size!

Have a great rest of your hump-day dolls!

Yuri

🌙 Bedtime skincare products

Happy almost Friday beauties!

Tonight, I’m sharing my bedtime skincare products on my Instagram: @beautybyryulala.

I am a BIG fan of cleansers that make my face feel super clean after face wash. I cannot stand the oily or sticky feeling of cleansers that feel like it’s still on the face. The Origins cleanser is one of my faves because of the way it feels during the wash and after. I always apply a toner following my face wash, whether it’s the spritzing kind or one that you use with a cotton pad, I won’t ever skip this step. Toner is what preps your skin for moisturizing so especially at nighttime, when your skin can take all the moisture in from great products, I love the feeling of how hydrating my skin feels. Don’t forget specialty creams! Not all moisturizers are for eye areas so it’s important to get a specific kind of moisturizer/cream for your eyes.

Hope you all have a good night’s rest tonight!

Xo,

Yuri

PRO TIP: Color Correcting

Happy Tuesday dolls!

I wanted to talk about color correcting and how to target uneven skin complexion using specific makeup products. I wanted to share some of my favorite color correcting products and some new ones I picked up that I have been liking so far. My oldie but goodie products are by Make Up Forever: Camouflage Cream Palettes and (new) HD concealers – I’ve been a big fan of their products and love how they are always coming out with newer and better formulas across the board for makeup so they are just some of my holy grail brands I stand behind and love. Another color correcting product I have always used in the past and just started up using on my clients again is the Bobbi Brown corrector pots. These two brands I definitely don’t mind spending the money on to stock for my kit and use on my clients. Especially for this area of correcting uneven skin tones, they have stayed consistent in the products they came out with.

Some newer items I have been trying out are the Smashbox color correcting sticks. I have the contour sticks and really loved them so decided to pick up these creamy sticks again, but in the color correcting shades. These particular sticks can be used wet or dry and are just a dream to blend into the skin. I used them for my last photoshoot on my model who needed some evening out in the skin and they were very easy to use for application and for blending.

I have heard some good things about the Urban Decay Color Correcting fluids so I would be open to try out some more new ones. Let me know if you have tried it out!

PRO TIPS: Color Correcting is used for evening out skin tone and neutralizing discoloration. You can use color correcting concealers/products to brighten up under eyes/discoloration, whether it be dark circles, redness, or even blemishes and acne.

Pick the right color for the application: red with green (green helps reduce redness), yellow with purple (lavender or purple lightens and brightens sallowness and yellow areas), and blue with orange (peach/orange shades help brighten and cancel out dark areas on the face as well as redness like Rosacea)

Minimal Makeup Monday

Hello beauties!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and also a fun Father’s Day for those of you who celebrated. It was an extremely hot weekend in SoCal and today was even hotter. The heat wave in Southern California is just beginning and just in time for the first day of Summer. I have to admit I am a little afraid of this heat this season. I am NOT ready lol.

Today was a whopping 108° and I definitely did not put on a full face of makeup. I did opt for my fave CC Compact by Amore Pacific which has an SPF of 50+ so definitely prepared for sun protection and skin protection. I went with a very minimal makeup look today so just applied some light concealer under my eyes to brighten (I do this daily on light to full coverage makeup days), used a tinted brow gel for a filled in look, and then lastly, some mascara to open up my eyes. I kept it light and dewy and just that for today’s hot hot weather. I didn’t drink any hot coffee today at all because of the heat so I made a yummy iced coffee instead.

Hope you all had a productive Monday so far and stay hydrated as this season officially kicks off today. Happy Summer beauties!

Yuri

Sunday morning skincare

Happy Sunday morning beauties!

It’s quite gloomy today and yesterday, typical off-season weekend in SoCal 🙃 I’m sharing my morning skincare essentials on my IG @beautybyryulala today! I never go without a sunscreen on top of my moisturizer and before applying makeup. I heard SuperGoop has a makeup setting spray that also works as a sunscreen with SPF 50. I’m debating whether to try the 1 oz. bottle just to see how it works. Please let me know if you have tried it! I would love to hear feedback. Another few products I love to use in the morning is a Vitamin C serum and a good eye cream. It’s a great way to wake up your skin with a brightening agent and soothing eye cream to moisturize. Of course can’t leave out one of my fave toning mist. I love spritzing this on after face wash to tone and prep the skin for moisturizers and makeup application.

Don’t forget to give your skin some TLC over the weekend, morning and nighttime. Drink lots of water to help hydrate, get good sleep, use great products to help reinvigorate your skin and especially help maintain it!

Have a great rest of your weekend, dolls!
