Contour like a PRO

Hi friends! Hope you’re having a great Thursday and excited for Friday tomorrow!

For today’s makeup look, I decided to use a cream contour and a powder contour. Nothing too dramatic though. Just enough to get good definition in my face and the powder always helps with creating more definition after the blending as well as setting the areas where I applied the cream product.

I wanted to share some tips on how to effectively contour using cream products. Whether you want to use your fingers or a brush to apply the product, the key to using any cream product is BLENDING. You can use your fingers to pat and blend in the product, or a good synthetic brush and even a beauty sponge. I personally like to use brushes and a beauty blender. For this particular cream product, the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD concealer is fast-drying, but I like to apply it on all the contour/highlight areas of my face all at once and then blend each area instead of applying the product in the contour/highlight area, blending, and then repeating the steps for the rest of my face. So because this product is fast-drying and the way I like to apply it can cause it to dry even faster, I spritz a makeup setting spray over the areas before I blend. You can also spritz your brush or beauty sponge with the setting spray as well. They both help with blending out the product smoothly. Thank God. Otherwise, you’d definitely be having sore arms!

After the blending is complete, I go back in and re-define the contour/highlight areas with the ABH Contour Kit, blending the powders again and setting the areas where I applied the cream product. I use a powder/blending brush and duo fiber brushes to apply the powders. I know this may sound a like a full coverage, full face of makeup, but it really all depends on how much you apply the product on your face. Of course you can always build and blend to achieve the full-coverage makeup look, but you can easily achieve the natural makeup look by just lightly applying the product.

I’ll be snap chatting my look from today so let me know what you think! Snapchat: @ryulala

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day beauties!

Yesterday, I had a busy workday plus a photoshoot that lasted into the evening so I didn’t get to post anything up unfortunately! I did have an amazing time shooting with a beautiful model friend and photographer. It was great energy on set and a lot of fun. Can’t wait to share the photos with you!

I had a full face of makeup on yesterday so I went with a lighter look today. I feel as though this is just how my week goes – either a full face of makeup to a lighter lightweight, natural face of makeup. I try to create a good balance. Sorry, it may be boring sometimes! I do try to change up the products at times with what I use.

Here are today’s makeup essentials.

Have a great day dolls!

Mondays

Hi friends! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and having a great Monday so far. Working away today and prepping for a photoshoot tomorrow. Mondays definitely call for a good cup of coffee or a cappuccino, a good snack (I treated myself to an ice cream cookie) and of course the perfect lip color for the day. Today’s lip color is a beautiful nudey-mauve shade by Lorac in the Alter Lipstick and Lipgloss color Secret Agent. Nothing more than these to brighten up my Monday.

Cheers to a great week, dolls!

The Balm Gang

Happy Sunday beauties!

Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend and staying cool from the heat.

I love matte products and some of my fave lippie products are from The Balm cosmetics. I picked up some of these beauties from their 50% Flash Sale last month and finally came around to snapping a photo of them. I picked up the matte eyeshadow palette, some more matte liquid lipsticks and of course restocked on my OG Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter. I have been wearing the Committed shade for a month now and am obsessed.

What are some of your fave Balm cosmetics products?

Happy Weekend!

Hi friends!

Saturday essentials are up on my post on Instagram: @beautybyryulala

Kept it pretty light and dewy with my fave MAC Face & Body foundation, set it with some translucent powder, then added some lashes and lip color for a completed look. I went to a friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday party in LA and wanted to keep the look simple since we were expecting a very hot day in LA. Here are the details.

I hope you all have a great, cool weekend. It’s going to be a hot one in SoCal!

In a rush~ essentials

Hi dolls!

Hope you all had a fun Memorial Day weekend!

Headed out to dinner and was in a rush to do makeup; MAC Face & Body foundation, Maybelline Fit Me concealer and Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I pulled out my Benefit Blushing Cheek Party palette to quickly apply bronzer and blush. It literally is a time saver for me so I don’t need to grab and open up different products. I can just switch brushes and dip into the next pan. Haha

All done and headed out! Have a great night beauties!

Eyebrow Essentials

Hi friends! I’m so sorry I’ve been so MIA on here! I have been busy with events for work and traveling for business. I’m just getting back into my beauty posts on social media as well as blogging. I hope you are all doing well and ready for Summer 2016!

I finally restocked on a bunch of my favorite eyebrow products by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I ran out of my Brow Definer and have been trying to finish up my Brow Wiz so I can order all at once. Finally, I ordered some more of my Brow Definer, Brow Wiz, Clear Brow Gel, and the Brow Powder Duo. My current color is Medium Brown for my eyebrows so I get all my colored brow products in this color. I usually take turns in using the different brow products also, the Brow Definer and Brow Wiz when I’m doing a full face of makeup and the Brow Powder Duo when I’m doing a more lighter application and want to just lightly fill in for fuller, natural brow look.

Have a great week and see you again soon!

Xoxo,

Yuri
