Tuesday Essentials

Happy Tuesday dolls! I’m sharing today’s essentials on my IG post: @beautybyryulala.

I just started a new, strict diet M-F so I’m feeling like I need a good cup of caffeine every day. I’ve been keeping my makeup light and natural, which is what I normally do throughout the work week, unless I’m out meeting with clients. I always have my under eye powder to touch up and highlight the areas on my face. I always have at least a lip color to apply and also can’t be without my fave Jo Malone cologne. I love the small sample sizes because they’re so easy to have with me in my purse.

Have a great Tuesday beauties!

Weekend lip duo

Happy weekend beauties!

Out and about today at a work event, trying to stay cool. I kept my makeup lightweight with some MAC Face and Body, no eyeliner just lashes, bronzer, blush and highlighter. For lips, I’ve been obsessed with pairing my MAC lip liner in Soar with the Balm Matt Hughes Liquid Lipstick. I just line and fill in my lips with Soar and apply the liquid lipstick on top of it. It’s a great shade together, soft and pretty, mauve-y nude lip color!

Hope you stay cool beauties! Have a great Saturday.

Yuri

Happy hump-day!

Happy hump-day beauties!

As always, I went with a natural and neutral makeup for today’s look. I love my Urban Decay NAKED Basics palette and love taking it with me when I’m on the go because of the convenient size! I guess I stuck with using all travel size friendly products today. lol Here’s what I used: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer as always, on top of my SPF and my Maybelline Fit Me concealer to brighten up my under eyes, LORAC eye primer (I took a break from my MAC paint pot), filled in my brows with the ABH brow powder duo, and the Marc Jacobs mascara. Surprisingly, I have been enjoying the Marc Jacobs mascara. I don’t like to change my mascaras too much because I am very particular with mascaras in general. I’m obsessed with finding the type that does not clump or weigh down my lashes. I have a few favorites that I always use, but I have been using the Marc Jacobs one when I’m on the go and I have to say, it’s pretty good. Lightweight, even after two coats and not clumpy at all. I like the way it applies even in the small size. I’ll have to finish this bottle and see if I decide on purchasing the full size!

Have a great rest of your hump-day dolls!

Yuri

Back to BASICS

Hi dolls!

For today’s makeup look, I took it back to the basics with a neutral/natural look. Check out my post on my IG @beautybyryulala for details!

I had a busy early part of the week with work which consisted of lots of driving and celebrated a birthday dinner for one of my bestie’s in DTLA. I also went back to lightening my hair for Summer from my FAVE hair artist and bestie. I’ll be sharing some photos soon!

I’m prepping for a photoshoot all day tomorrow so be sure to follow me on Snapchat @ryulala for some BTS footage as well as my daily posts!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Contour like a PRO

Hi friends! Hope you’re having a great Thursday and excited for Friday tomorrow!

For today’s makeup look, I decided to use a cream contour and a powder contour. Nothing too dramatic though. Just enough to get good definition in my face and the powder always helps with creating more definition after the blending as well as setting the areas where I applied the cream product.

I wanted to share some tips on how to effectively contour using cream products. Whether you want to use your fingers or a brush to apply the product, the key to using any cream product is BLENDING. You can use your fingers to pat and blend in the product, or a good synthetic brush and even a beauty sponge. I personally like to use brushes and a beauty blender. For this particular cream product, the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD concealer is fast-drying, but I like to apply it on all the contour/highlight areas of my face all at once and then blend each area instead of applying the product in the contour/highlight area, blending, and then repeating the steps for the rest of my face. So because this product is fast-drying and the way I like to apply it can cause it to dry even faster, I spritz a makeup setting spray over the areas before I blend. You can also spritz your brush or beauty sponge with the setting spray as well. They both help with blending out the product smoothly. Thank God. Otherwise, you’d definitely be having sore arms!

After the blending is complete, I go back in and re-define the contour/highlight areas with the ABH Contour Kit, blending the powders again and setting the areas where I applied the cream product. I use a powder/blending brush and duo fiber brushes to apply the powders. I know this may sound a like a full coverage, full face of makeup, but it really all depends on how much you apply the product on your face. Of course you can always build and blend to achieve the full-coverage makeup look, but you can easily achieve the natural makeup look by just lightly applying the product.

I’ll be snap chatting my look from today so let me know what you think! Snapchat: @ryulala

Happy Weekend!

Hi friends!

Saturday essentials are up on my post on Instagram: @beautybyryulala

Kept it pretty light and dewy with my fave MAC Face & Body foundation, set it with some translucent powder, then added some lashes and lip color for a completed look. I went to a friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday party in LA and wanted to keep the look simple since we were expecting a very hot day in LA. Here are the details.

I hope you all have a great, cool weekend. It’s going to be a hot one in SoCal!

Dewy, Natural, & Fresh-faced MOTD

Happy hump day beauties!

Even though the weather seems to be a bit cloudy today, I was feeling for a dewy, clean fresh faced look. I like to spritz on a makeup setting spray before applying my foundation to keep the dewiness look on my face. Today, I used the Skindinavia makeup setting spray and applied the MAC Face & Body foundation (I am almost running out of this bottle) and used a duo-fiber brush to lightly help apply the liquid foundation all over my face. I used my go-to concealer by Maybelline Fit Me (I use this concealer and switch between this one and the NARS concealer) and applied it under my eyes, forehead, little it on the bridge of my nose, around my nostrils, and around my lips to conceal any uneven skin tones and brighten up those areas. I set these areas very lightly using the Laura Mercier TL powder just so there is no creasing and then warmed up my face a little with some bronzer using my MAC MSF powder in Dark Golden. Next, I used my favorite mascara by L’oreal Paris Voluminous in Carbon Black and also the Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara for my bottom lashes. Then I finished off the look with my favorite Demi Wispies by Ardell lashes and voila~ finished look.

I hope you all liked my step-by-step fresh face look today. It is very simple and I did not do anything other than bronze my face to add some warmth and depth. I will usually go with this look to keep it looking dewy and fresh and “natural” with some big eyes, with the help of my wispies lashes. I always get compliments asking whether I have lash extensions when I wear these and that they look very natural. Obsessed!

Have a great rest of the week dolls!
