Contour like a PRO

Hi friends! Hope you’re having a great Thursday and excited for Friday tomorrow!

For today’s makeup look, I decided to use a cream contour and a powder contour. Nothing too dramatic though. Just enough to get good definition in my face and the powder always helps with creating more definition after the blending as well as setting the areas where I applied the cream product.

I wanted to share some tips on how to effectively contour using cream products. Whether you want to use your fingers or a brush to apply the product, the key to using any cream product is BLENDING. You can use your fingers to pat and blend in the product, or a good synthetic brush and even a beauty sponge. I personally like to use brushes and a beauty blender. For this particular cream product, the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD concealer is fast-drying, but I like to apply it on all the contour/highlight areas of my face all at once and then blend each area instead of applying the product in the contour/highlight area, blending, and then repeating the steps for the rest of my face. So because this product is fast-drying and the way I like to apply it can cause it to dry even faster, I spritz a makeup setting spray over the areas before I blend. You can also spritz your brush or beauty sponge with the setting spray as well. They both help with blending out the product smoothly. Thank God. Otherwise, you’d definitely be having sore arms!

After the blending is complete, I go back in and re-define the contour/highlight areas with the ABH Contour Kit, blending the powders again and setting the areas where I applied the cream product. I use a powder/blending brush and duo fiber brushes to apply the powders. I know this may sound a like a full coverage, full face of makeup, but it really all depends on how much you apply the product on your face. Of course you can always build and blend to achieve the full-coverage makeup look, but you can easily achieve the natural makeup look by just lightly applying the product.

I’ll be snap chatting my look from today so let me know what you think! Snapchat: @ryulala

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day beauties!

Yesterday, I had a busy workday plus a photoshoot that lasted into the evening so I didn’t get to post anything up unfortunately! I did have an amazing time shooting with a beautiful model friend and photographer. It was great energy on set and a lot of fun. Can’t wait to share the photos with you!

I had a full face of makeup on yesterday so I went with a lighter look today. I feel as though this is just how my week goes – either a full face of makeup to a lighter lightweight, natural face of makeup. I try to create a good balance. Sorry, it may be boring sometimes! I do try to change up the products at times with what I use.

Here are today’s makeup essentials.

Have a great day dolls!

Happy Monday beauties! I hope you all had a well rested weekend and a busy Monday today! I woke up to cold weather and rain today, but soaking up the cold before we dive right into the Summer weather which we’re probably expecting the remainder of the week in So Cal. Today definitely went by fast thanks to the DLS yesterday lol

Here are my essentials for today. Went for a basic look today (what else is new): tinted moisturizer, concealer, eyebrows, some highlighter, concealer, bronzer, and some blusher. I love keeping it simple with my makeup! I know, sometimes it can be more boring for some people, but I honestly don’t mind my makeup being clean and simple. I did attend a special event on Saturday and had a full face of makeup on so I try to keep it nice and light during the week if I can. It’s all about how you take care of your skin and balance is key. If I end up wearing more full coverage makeup during the week, I try to “up” my skincare game so I can give it some more TLC on makeup off-days.

Cheers to a great week dolls!

Xo,

Yuri

Some limited edition palettes should just be available at all times to purchase! This NARS Virtual Domination Cheek palette is one of my faves. Bronzer, blush and highlighter in one? How can you not want a palette that offers all of these? Lol Although you can’t purchase this specific palette anymore, they are sold separately from NARS. Hooray!

Today’s Essentials

Happy Thursday, dolls! I’ve been recovering from a lingering cold with bad allergies and finally feeling so much better! Glad to be back blogging and posting up on my social media again. 🤗

Here are today’s essentials:

  • Benefit cosmetics Real Cheeky Party Holiday Blush palette
  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Sand
  • NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard

As you know, I’m all about convenience when coming to makeup palettes and I love that the Benefit Real Cheeky Party Holiday Party Blush palette came with some of my fave Benefit products. I’m able to use bronzer, blush, highlighter, eyeliner, and mascara from one place – amazing and talk about a time saver! I kept it pretty easy and light with my makeup today (what else is new) with a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation and concealer of course, to brighten up my under eyes and overall complexion.

I’ve been struggling with the worst allergies this season and therefore leaning more towards a light makeup look since I’ve been reaching for tissue a lot. Nobody likes wiping makeup off their face let alone reapplying. Lol
Have a great rest of the week beauties!

Ciao,

Yuri
